Entrepreneurship and
Business Development Center (EBDC)
The Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center (EBDC) is associated with Moberly Area Community College but exists for the sole purpose of supporting rural businesses and new entrepreneurs in the community and surrounding area. Nationwide averages of growth indicate that only 1% of new jobs come from companies moving into an area, 55% come from existing businesses expanding, and 44% come from new business start-ups. The role of the EBDC is to support existing businesses and help out local entrepreneurs start new businesses.
The SCORE chapter of working and retired business executives supports new entrepreneurs with developing ideas, writing business plans, and obtaining business loans. The EBDC also provides seminars, classes, networking, referral services, counseling and training- virtually everything needed to start and grow a rural business in our community.
Our Mission The Moberly Area Community College Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center (EBDC) empowers individuals and business communities to start, grow, and sustain business. The EBDC provides customers with opportunities that enhance entrepreneurship and support business success through educational programs, business services, community partnerships, and cooperative efforts.
Our Purpose To promote entrepreneurship and assist individuals and businesses with startup and business operations.
Entrepreneur and Business Strategy Assistance Assistance is provided to businesses of all sizes in any business stage; (concept, launch, growth and maturity). Help in navigating and meeting the vast array of challenges that entrepreneurs and businesses face today is available.
Workforce and Economic Development Assessments, training, application for funding, and referrals to economic development and government agencies are provided. Training, Seminars, and Classes When coupled with business knowledge, innovative ideas can produce unlimited economic and social benefits. Educational and informative sessions are designed to help individuals and organizations manage business.
Business Research and Information A wealth of print and online resources are available to provide entrepreneurs and business professionals information to promote success.
Office Incubator Space Office space, secretarial and mentoring services, as well as access to office equipment is available at a nominal rate to entrepreneurs in the start-up phase. Acceptance is competitive and an application is required.
